Financial Director - Vellamo Water

Completely pure and exquisitely flavored, this natural product contains no environmental pollutants or artificial minerals or sweeteners. Launched in 2017, the product's taste and design have won several prestigious awards, including the German Design Award 2020, Red Dot Design Award 2019, Fine Waters Design Award 2019 Gold, and the 2019 InnoBev Taste Award.

We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Director to join Vellamo’s dynamic team. 

In this role you will provide comprehensive financial support and strategic guidance to our operations management team. Your responsibilities include analyzing the company’s current processes, monitoring performance against budget, and identifying areas for cost reduction and operational improvement. You will also facilitate the annual budget process, develop financial strategies to identify growth opportunities, and report potential solutions to senior management.

Furthermore, you will lead bank financing and other finance initiatives, oversee income statement, and prepare audit statements. Collaborating with departments across our international operations, including Finland and North America, will be essential. You will also be responsible for maintaining internal controls to ensure compliance with legislation and conducting risk evaluations. Additionally, managing staff, completing ad hoc financial projects, and other duties assigned by management will be part of your responsibilities.

Requirements

University or Post-Graduate Degree in Accounting or Finance is required with a Master’s Degree in Accounting or equivalent considered an asset. You should have 5+ years of financial management or controller experience, preferably in fast-growth businesses with experience in company funding arrangements. Proficiency in English and Finnish language, both verbal and written, is required. Expert-level proficiency in the MS Office Site, particularly MS Excel is necessary. Working knowledge of the ORACLE NetSuite platform is strongly preferred. An ACCA or CPA designation is considered an asset.

You must have a broad understanding and thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures, as well as a strong understanding of privacy standards related to financial information, employee privacy legislation, and confidential information. You should be able to stay updated with new concepts, techniques, tools, and technologies.
